On Monday, January 1, at 6:22 a.m., Memorial Hospital welcomed Zendell Nicholas Cole, the first baby born at the hospital in 2007. Zendell Cole was born to Tracy Hensley and weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. and was 20.5 inches in length.

The baby and proud mother received numerous gifts including many necessities a new mother and child will need during the upcoming year. The prizes included clothing, bottles, a high chair, diapers, a walker and a variety of other childcare products. The baby also received a car seat, stroller and carrier travel system for his first ride home.

After receiving so many gifts, Hensley donated some of her gifts to the mother of a baby born just one hour later.
