After hearing the devastating news of the tornado that hit Oklahoma on May 22nd, the employees of Manchester Memorial Hospital decided to lend a helping hand to the ones in need. The Hospital teamed up with a local charity organization, “Bedtime Backpacks for Oklahoma”, to buy and fill backpacks with bedtime supplies for children and teens. Supplies included toiletries, personal hygiene products, pajamas, books, games and toys.
Manchester Memorial employees managed to bring in 90 backpacks stuffed with helpful materials for the youth of Oklahoma. With these donations, we wanted not only to brighten up the children’s day but also wanted to tell them that there can be life after a ‘storm’ and hope can be restored.
Gratitude and appreciation is given to all the employees who participated in donating to the children in need.
