Community Doctor Joins Memorial Hospital
Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Douglas Irwin’s Family Medical Care practice to Memorial’s physicians’ group. As of May 1, 2008 Dr. Irwin’s family practice will now be working as a part of the Memorial Hospital medical team. Both the hospital administration and Dr. Irwin’s team believe that by joining together they will be better equipped to give their patients excellent care and to better serve the community at large.
“The benefit to my practice is that I will be able to focus more on the patient and being a doctor, rather than on all the administrative aspects of running a business,” said Dr. Irwin.
Dr. Irwin approached Memorial Hospital about joining their team in December of 2007 and all involved are glad to see the completion of this effort.
“I am really excited about joining with Memorial. This move will provide me more opportunities to volunteer and to be involved with the community,” said Francis Combs, a breast cancer survivor and staff member for Dr. Irwin.
Memorial Hospital administration expressed similar sentiments on the opportunity to come together and serve the Manchester area.
“We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Irwin and his staff join the Memorial Hospital family. He has been here several years and has built a good reputation as a physician and a community advocate. We look forward to many years of continued growth and success as we serve the community together,” said Benny Nolen, Vice President of Physician Relations.
