CREATION Health themed Health Fair a success

CREATION Health themed Health Fair a success

Manchester, KY: Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH) would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to our community for making its Annual Health Fair a true success.

The Fair was held on 20th May 2014, at EKU (Manchester Campus) from 10am to 2pm. More than 85 community members attended the fair and enhanced their knowledge on a number of topics. “Manchester Memorial Hospital is dedicated to providing its community with programs designed to educate and support their path to wellness through healthier eating and lifestyles choices,” said Hurriyat Ghayyur, Marketing Director for the Hospital.

This year, the theme was CREATION Health, which is a faith-based health and wellness program based on the Bible’s Creation story. All participants were categorized under each letter of the acronym CREATION, and the attendees got a chance to visit different booths, pick up educational material and get some useful give aways.

The Hospital’s Mission in Motion unit was on site and conducted numerous health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol and bone density. Along with them, the Hospital was represented via their Infection Prevention and Dietary units. Willowbrook Women’s Center had an informative booth with great give aways for the ladies, while Memorial Home Health was also present with a booth.

There was also a separate CREATION Health (CH) booth, where a lot of CH information was displayed and the hospital’s CH Specialist was on hand to educate everyone on the 8 simple principles. Along with printed material, the booth also had CREATION Health videos played, which drew the eye and attention of many attendees.

The highlights of the event included a demo by Silver Dragon on self- defense, free massages and live zumba sessions, which were a hit with the ladies. 3 major door prizes were drawn every 2 hours and the winners walked away with baskets full of great CREATION Health paraphernalia.

A healthy stream of people was seen at the Fair, with all booths busy at all times. “The Fair brought together local community organizations to offer our community education, supportive services and free screening/testing services for a number of healthcare issues critical to them,” said Ghayyur.

The hospital would also like to say “Thank You” to all of the agencies and vendors that participated in the event, namely:
