Gary Carlson is the new chief financial officer (CFO) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He comes to Manchester Memorial Hospital after seven years with Park Ridge Hospital in North Carolina where he served the four-hospital Appalachia Region as director of revenue management. Mr. Carlson has almost 20 years of healthcare experience with Adventist Health System at three hospitals and the home health division. Carlson replaces Richard Boggess who moved to Texas to be the chief financial officer at Central Texas Medical Center.
“We are very fortunate to have Gary as our new CFO,” Dennis Meyers, president and CEO of Manchester Memorial Hospital, said. “He comes to us with a great background in patient financial service experience. Gary is a person of great integrity and will be a significant contributor to the mission of our hospital.”
In addition to Carlson’s revenue management experience he has served in various leadership and management roles in patient financial services, human resources, finance, and IT and has had administrative responsibilities for laboratory and radiology. His responsibilities at Manchester Memorial Hospital will include finance, accounting, patient financial services, health information services, and information services.
“I have had the privilege of working with individuals at Manchester Memorial Hospital since the mid-90s through home health and patient financial services,” Carlson said. “There is such a sense of teamwork and dedication here that is not always easy to find, especially at larger facilities.”
Carlson’s wife Jan is a nurse and works as an operating room circulating nurse. They have two children, Kirsten, their 24 year old daughter who is newly married and lives in Collegedale, Tennessee, and Andy, their 22 year old son who attends Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee.
