Manchester Memorial Hospital Joins Cardiology Associates and the UK Gill Heart Institute to Provide Expanded Heart Care Services

August 25th 2014, Manchester, Ky – Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH) has partnered with the ARH Cardiology Associates and UK Gill Heart Institute to offer Clay county and surrounding areas local access to advanced cardiology services.

This partnership will allow many patients and their loved ones the ability to stay close to home for even the most complex cardiology care by the ARH Cardiology Associates team and backed by the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center and the renowned UK Gill Heart Institute. The partnership provides patients access to UK’s comprehensive cardiovascular expertise and resources, while maintaining the familiarity of community healthcare providers.

“We are excited about expanding our outpatient services in collaboration with ARH and UK Gill Heart Institute. This allows us to offer quality heart care with convenience of location, to our community and the surrounding areas,” said Erica Skula, CEO of Manchester Memorial Hospital.

ARH and UK HealthCare’s Gill Heart Institute joined forces last year in a collaboration aimed at improving access to patient-centered care and creating an extension of the Gill Heart Institute into the region.

“ARH is proud to be extending our cardiac services into Clay and surrounding counties through this exciting partnership with Manchester Memorial Hospital. This partnership builds upon the solid foundation of quality healthcare services already available in Clay County,” said Joe Grossman, ARH President and CEO.  “By joining together we are able to extend even further our residents’ ability to receive exceptional care from some of the most skilled and extensively trained physicians close to home.”

As part of the partnership, Dr. Keerthana  Karumbaiah, a general cardiologist, is now practicing at the Memorial Hospital and accepting patients at the Manchester Memorial Cardiology Clinic, located 65 Glenndale Drive, Suite 2 in Manchester.

Board certified in internal medicine and nuclear cardiology, Dr. Karumbaiah earned her medical degree at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in India and completed her internal medicine residency at the SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York. She has also completed her cardiology fellowship at University of South Alabama Medical Center, Mobile, Alabama.
