Memorial Hospital welcomed new physician, Kobkit Putrakul, M.D., to their Emergency Department team in January 2013. Dr. Putrakul, known as “Dr. Kit” to hospital employees and patients, recently moved back to the United States after time spent as a missionary in Cambodia.
Dr. Putrakul is not a stranger to southeastern Kentucky, however. In 2008 he worked part time for Memorial Hospital as a locum physician filling in as needed in the hospital’s ER. Memorial Hospital’s mission of “extending the healing ministry of Christ” is important to him as well.
“I believe medicine is one way God helps us to serve his people,” said Dr. Putrakul.
Dr. Putrakul attended Medical School at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. He completed his residency program at the University of Washington in Seattle and the University of New Mexico.
