Thursa Cotton Retires After 35 Years At Memorial Hospital

Thursa Cotton celebrated 35 years of service at Memorial Hospital at her retirement party. On December 28, Cotton, her friends and coworkers enjoyed cake and ice cream before she was presented with the traditional retirement rocking chair. Cotton worked as a ward clerk on PCU East assisting the patients, nurses and physicians. She also spent time as a nurse’s aide during her time at the hospital.

“Thursa has always been pleasant and willing to do whatever it takes to serve the patients and employees at our hospital,” said Donna Cochran, RN, executive director of patient services. “Thursa will be missed, she felt like part of the family.”

Cotton plans on enjoying her retirement sitting in her new rocking chair listening to George Jones and Loretta Lynn. She might even take time to travel with her sister and see some parts of the country she’s never had the chance to visit.

Thursa, the staff at Memorial Hospital wishes you the best as you begin enjoying your retirement. Thank you for your dedicated service.
