Manchester Memorial’s ‘All Stars’ Gala Draws In A Large Crowd

The Memorial Hospital Foundation held its 5th Annual Gala on 24th September 2015 at EKU Manchester Campus, to raise money for their OB unit renovation project called ‘Labor of Love’.

The Memorial Hospital Foundation was created to raise funds for capital projects within the hospital and other projects in the community. The theme of the gala this year was ‘All Stars’ and everyone was encouraged to dress in their favorite team’s shirts and jerseys.

The festivities were opened up by Deann Stivers, Memorial Foundation Director who welcomed the guests, followed by Chaplain Mark Bondarenko who did a prayer and a short devotion for the evening. Post dinner, there were short speeches by Erika Skula, CEO of Manchester Memorial Hospital, Dr. Ian Sink, Physician at Willowbrook Women’sCenter and Kristina Burchfield, OB Team Lead who spoke about the importance of OB renovation at the hospital and what the hospital meant to this community. They also spoke about the Subutex program and various other ways through which the hospital serves the community and its people.

The meal was catered by the hospital’s own Chef Terry Crist and was a fare to be raved about for days! Guests were able to participate in many ways this year. A photographer was on-site to take pictures of people dressed in their best and there was a silent auction with plenty of interesting items. Dr. Sink also led a live auction on items such as a women’s Citizen watch, a suite at Churchill Downs and catering for a party of eight by Chef Terry Crist.

Last, but not least, local artists The Mandobros put on a great show playing some old-time music, some current favorites and even a few of their own songs. This entertainment was sponsored by Air Evac team.

A sincere thanks goes out to all our generous sponsors this year:
